DESCRIPTION
With the continued growth of the oil and gas sector in central Alberta, Diversity Technologies Corporation (Di-Corp) determined that an expansion in capacity was required for continued service. In spring 2014, Union Street Geotechnical Ltd. performed a geotechnical investigation at the 13.4 ha site for the proposed Frac Sand Storage and Handling Facility. The geotechnical investigation provided a description of soil type and condition as well as suitable foundation recommendations, providing (Di-Corp) with the necessary information to finalize construction details.
Construction of the new facility commenced summer 2014 and included railroad realignment, storage silo infrastructure, rail pit, office building, and gravel road/yard construction. Union Street provided steel pipe pile design, subgrade, subbase, and base materials testing as well as slab on grade concrete testing.
Project was completed winter 2015.
